The DE 44 is an unlockable epic hand cannon and a signature weapon of Buddy, Dollar Dragon, and Lector. It resembles the Bearslayer Short with hugely improved magazine capacity, overall damage output, and handling but worse damage per shot, rendering it a substandard option among the unlockable epic weapons.

- Ropes wields a DE 44 in King’s Treasure, Silver uses one in Who Took the Dogs Out?, Tuna carries one in New Blood, and Mr. X wields one in Hauling Ash and The Big Khan.
- Buddy and Lector have DE 44s.
- Dragon carries a DE 44 in the campaign.
- Some Skeety Kitty Arms locations sell DE 44s.
- Players can find DE 44s in the weapons vaults in compound basements.
- After players unlock the weapon in multiplayer, the Arms Dealer may sell DE 44s to players of any respect level in Baker’s Battle. Respected, formidable, godfather, and crime boss players can also purchase DE 44s from the black market.
