Jet Set is the second mission in Cracker’s story. After Cracker loses the briefcase to the Nemesis, he asks the Scientist to help recover it. But information isn’t free, and in exchange the Scientist wants him to infiltrate a Russian military installation and steal the flight recorder from a fighter jet.

Strategy

Cut the fence

Several Russian soldiers patrol the runway, hangar, and barracks, and a lookout occupies each of the two sentry towers. If Cracker wishes to proceed stealthily, he should use his sidearm—a Brescia 92 S—to dispatch the guards.

If a searchlight illuminates Cracker or a corpse, the lookouts will instantly raise the alarm. Cracker can kill them to disable the lights, but if he shoots either light directly it will break and instantly raise the alarm, regardless of whether the lookouts are alive.

Locate the pilot

The jet pilot is in one of two barracks across runway; the other building houses several Russian troops. If Cracker hasn’t raised the alarm, he can cut the second fence and slip through. Otherwise, the gates will open and more Russians will arrive; there are mounted MGs above both gates which Cracker can use to eliminate waves of enemies.

Get the Key

The key is on the table in the jet pilot’s quarters.

Unlock the jet

Although Cracker can jump directly into the Wolf B’s cockpit, he can’t take off from there. Players should instead use the ladder from the hangar floor.

Consequences

Completing this mission successfully allows the Scientist to examine the jet’s flight path and narrow his search area; he then asks Cracker to sneak into a radar facility and pinpoint the location of the Bomb. If the player fails or ignores the mission, Cracker dies, and his story ends.
